ZAO “NPF “DIEM” specialists finished final stage of environmental; impact assessment for one of the “South Stream” main pipeline sections.
In compliance with art. 14 Federal law “On State Environmental Expert Review” and Provisions “On Environmental Impact Assessment” public consultations on “Joint gas supply system extension for provision of gas flow into South Stream pipeline (East corridor)” project were held from the 17th of July to the 24th of August. The project main goal is provision of gas supply - 63 bln. m3 a year – in 15 districts of Krasnodar Krai.
Preliminary EIA documentation had been placed in municipal administrations and public places (libraries) of municipalities concerned.
Public consultations were organized by municipal administrations, client representatives (OOO “Piter Gas”), general planner (OAO “Giprospecgaz”).

Speakers illuminated basic environmental issues, including water, air, soils, plant and animal life impacts, noise emission and waste management. Issues of land reclamation and fulfilling environmental requirements were also discussed with public.

As a result of public hearings in Krasnodar Krai and Rostov Region the protocols of consultations were signed. Pipeline route through all municipalities and SPAs “State natural zoological reserve Krasnaya Gorka” and “Krymsky state natural zoological reserve” was approved by the public.
All comments and suggestions will be considered by Investor and Designers.
Public attitude to the project is generally favorable.
