The concept of strategic environmental assessment of social-economic development programs of Zabaikalsky Krai was approved on the meeting in Chita under the chairmanship of the governor Konstantin Ilkovsky on the 27th of May 2014.
The concept was developed by the specialists of WWF Russia, ZAO “SPF “DIEM”, Chita institute of natural resources, environment protection and cryolitology of the RAS Siberian branch.
Konstantin Ilkovsky outlined the high priority of the survey, which is a pioneering project of such kind in the Russian Federation, and assured the particular interest and support of the regional government.
Head of the Depatment of strategic environmental assessment and international projects of DIEM - Grigori Viltchek - took part in the meeting.
