Seismotectonic research is a part of environmental engineering survey (according to Ministry of Regional development Decree №624 from 30.12.2009).
Seismotectonic studies aim to assess level of seismic and tectonic hazards, determine active faults and estimate their basic parameters for project design and generation of potential earthquake source (PES) map.
