Ethnological expertise

Ethnocultural studies are of significant importance for companies, realizing projects within indigenous peoples’ settlements and lands.

ZAO “NPF “DIEM” has significant experience in research of ethnological situation change under intensive man-made impacts.

Ethnological studies include:

• historical and ethnographic research of native population settling and traditional activities within particular area,
• research of social and demographic characteristics, ethnocultural and religious features of native population in recent period of time,
• analysis of indigenous peoples’ adaptation to contemporary social and economic situation,
• mapping of indigenous peoples’ settling, areas of traditional land-use, sites of religious worship,
• arrangement and analysis of international and Russian legislation, covering issues of indigenous peoples’ rights on traditional land-use,
• determination of risks and finding appropriate solutions for realization of investment projects with possible negative impacts on indigenous peoples’ land-use.
