Environment and social impact assessment in compliance with international requirements

ZAO “NPF DIEM” is one of a few Russian companies with relevant experience and resources for performing Environmental and Social Impacts Assessment – ESIA – in compliance with EU environmental legislation, IFC and EBRD standards.

Major differences of international requirements from Russian standards are:

• particular attention to alternatives’ analysis on all project stages,
• more strict environmental standards,
• particular attention to social impact issues,
• necessity of EIA in transboundary context in compliance with Espoo Convention (1991).

ZAO “NPF DIEM” is able to fully meet the listed requirements for ESIA procedures in European countries.

DIEM has performed works on ESIA of CS “Portovaya” construction and implementation (North European gas pipeline), sections of “South Stream” gas pipeline on the territory of Central and Southern Europe and in international Black See waters.

Now DIEM specialists are working on ESIA for Stockman GCF development project.
